Titan Tarps
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Titan Tarps ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, and how you can access or correct it or make a complaint. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Who we are
Titan Tarps is a Sydney-based supplier of tarpaulins, PE products and bulk bags to retail and trade customers across Australia. Our contact details are at the end of this policy.
2. What personal information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- your name, email address, phone number and delivery and billing addresses;
- your business name, ABN, role and trade account details (for wholesale customers);
- order details, quote requests, product specifications and the messages you send us;
- payment information — card payments are handled by our payment providers, and we do not see or store your full card number;
- technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and how you reached our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information). Please do not send it to us. You can deal with us anonymously or with a pseudonym when you are only asking a general question, but we need your real details to quote, supply and deliver goods.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you place an order, request a quote, open a trade account, subscribe to emails, call or email us, or fill in a form on our website. We also collect technical information automatically when you use our website. Occasionally we receive information from third parties, such as a courier updating delivery status or a business that refers you to us.
4. Why we collect, use and disclose it
- to process, deliver and support your orders, including returns, refunds and warranty claims;
- to prepare quotes and assess and manage trade accounts;
- to answer your enquiries and provide customer service;
- to send you marketing, where you have agreed to receive it (see section 6);
- to run, secure and improve our website, and to prevent fraud;
- to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
If you don't give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to process your order, quote or enquiry.
5. Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes above, to:
- our e-commerce platform (Shopify) and the payment providers that process your payment;
- couriers and freight companies that deliver your order;
- IT, email, analytics and marketing service providers who help us run our business;
- our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers;
- government authorities, where the law requires or authorises it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia. In particular, our online store is hosted by Shopify, which may store and process data in Canada, the United States, Ireland and other countries where it or its sub-processors operate. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Marketing and unsubscribing
We only send marketing emails or SMS messages if you have agreed to receive them (for example, by subscribing on our website) or where the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) otherwise allows it. Every message identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the message or by contacting us, and we will action your request within five working days. You will still receive messages about your orders.
7. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember preferences, understand how the site is used and measure our marketing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site (such as the cart and checkout) may not work without them. For details of the cookies set by our platform, see Shopify's cookie policy.
8. Storage and security
We hold personal information electronically with our service providers and, for some records, in paper form at our premises. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including access controls and secure, encrypted checkout. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, tax records are generally kept for five years), and then securely destroy or de-identify it.
9. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and how you can complain.
10. Data breaches
If a data breach involving your personal information is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first in writing. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
12. Children
Our website and products are intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
